PetitHaus Letter to a Stranger

We are creating equal opportunities for affordable homeownership and empowering families /individuals to buy land and build homes within their budget/income by reducing the entry barriers of land/title acquisition and building development.

We built PetitHaus to make it easy to start small.

When I started my career, I believed that with diligent saving and smart investments, I’d own my home within 5-10 years...LOL. I was doing okay, making extra through 'PPs' with my salary, and I thought I had it all figured out. 

But inflation had other plans. Despite years of disciplined saving, rising land prices, documentation fees, and construction costs left me feeling like I was getting nowhere. I was stuck between “saving & waiting” and “starting small”. 

Of course, I considered ‘doing something’ around Epe or along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, but let’s be real, I work on the Island, and I wasn't going to commit the rest of my working years to spending hours and money in unending traffic. The worst part? Trust issues, hidden fees, and navigating the legal complexities of property ownership in these places make it even harder. I've been there, it’s really frustrating.

And that’s why I co-founded PetitHaus, to help people like me (regular hardworking Nigerians) start when they desire, and afford a home within their income.

Homeownership is very expensive, but we found out that building from scratch is the most affordable alternative (especially as mortgage is still beyond the reach of many) to homeownership.

Here’s how we’re doing it & why we need your help.

We are reaching out to explore a unique partnership opportunity with you, one that aligns with our vision of providing affordable housing to individuals through a co-ownership model.

Here’s how it works:

- We developed a solution to overcome the entry financial barriers of land/title acquisition through a co-owned (shared) fractional ownership model. Where a small group of 4-6 people jointly buys a piece of land, sharing all costs in equal fractions, while equally owning equal rights to the title. We call this “Land-Pool”.

- We leverage our expertise in helping buyers navigate pre-development, offering guidance with documentation, design & building approval. We also help them explore affordable construction methods using alternative materials to keep development costs low.

Why We Need Your Help:

We’re seeking landowners like you (that own lands with clean, registered and verifiable titles) to help with providing plots, half-plots, or acres of land for co-owned purchases. 

We’ve received an increasing show of interest and a growing demand for this co-ownership model particularly from Lagos and Abuja. This partnership offers you the chance to directly connect with motivated buyers, without the layers of commission that typically drive up costs. You’ll also be contributing to the success story in making homeownership accessible for hardworking Nigerians.
