How do we make Housing affordable?

Affordable is not just in size or how lowly or humble the building looks, it is simply owning the best quality you can afford. And to ensure that people own and maintain the best homes that matches their lifestyle, we have designed an innovative solution that combines three steps which are facilitated with technology for transparency, flexibility and ease of use.

To make it very simple and very relatable, let’s do a bit of imaginative exploration.

Say a 600sq.m land in Lekki, Lagos costs N60m and there is a possibility for you to buy as little as 10,15 or 20sq.m, meaning that, instead of looking for N60m for the full plot or N30m for the half (as is mostly the case for many land owners), all you need is just N100k x 20sq.m, meaning that with N2m you become a Lekki Landlord.

1. Land Ownership & Acquisition.

To make affordability possible, we have to make LAND accessible, that is, to interested individuals who want to own their own place no matter how small. Also for people who want to upgrade the quality of their lives, to be able to buy small pockets of land. A legal and government-approved model that is enabled and facilitated by Technology using any or many of the following.

  1. A streamlined process that helps different people to confidently co-own same piece of land in order to reduce cost of ownership while retaining full ownership rights and privileges.
  2. We create an online repository for land owners, either of fresh vacant piece(s) of land or unused part of an existing property who are willing to sell in small pockets to list, sell and transfer ownership of the property. Allowing interested individuals confidently acquire land either physically or virtually, with our ground team available to facilitate seamless ownership and title transfer for a little fee.
  3. We partner with owners of large pieces of land with the understanding to hold and sell on their behalf in small portions to willing individuals also facilitating ownership and title for a little fee.
  4. We acquire large pieces of land and resell to willing individuals in small pockets facilitating ownership and title documentations.

Back to the hypothetical land.

So let’s be modest and say in Lekki, Lagos, you could own 20sq.m land that is just enough to give you a decent home as above, with N2-5m ($3000 -7500) as appropriate for your income level. And you could take it further by building a decent studio apartment between N3m and N10m (or $4000-$15000) based on your taste and furnishing style using a technology that eliminates sand-filling, eliminates expensive foundation, eliminates or minimizes concrete, allows multi-functionality of your space and offers self-sufficient energy efficiency.

Meaning that between N5m to N15m, you could become a home owner (a Lekki landlord), living your best life.
